PADI Emergency First Response (E/F/R)

No diving certification is required for this one-day course, and there is no age limit, making E/F/R an ideal qualification for anyone, whether a diver or not.

PADI Emergency First Response teaches the skills to perform CPR (Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) and basic first-aid. It provides essential, fundamental knowledge and skills to ensure the correct  approach and practice in dealing with many medical conditions, injuries and life-threatening situations.

While E/F/R does not directly include diving-specific knowledge and treatments, it  (or another approved qualification in general first-aid) is a requirement for certification at Rescue Diver level. On the Rescue course (probably the most valuable on PADI’s non-professional programme) that general knowledge is supplemented by extensive information on diving accidents and injuries, together with detailed instruction on appropriate first-aid.
